Headaches are a very common complaint. It seems as if almost everyone has experienced a headache at one time or another. What is a headache? It is described as pain in any region of the head that may happen on one or both sides, may be isolated, or may feel like a vise is squeezing the head. The pain can be dull and achy or sharp and throbbing. Headaches can last for less than an hour or for a few days.
To care for a headache most people use over-the-counter medications and/or lie down in a dark room and rest until the pain eases up. If someone has headaches that are chronic, he may avoid events where there will be loud noises or a lot of people in fear that a headache will be triggered. Generally, one can function with a headache, unless it is a migraine or another severe type.
Headaches are not normal, and a person should not have to live with them. There is something that can be done about headaches. It is a natural, safe solution that is often overlooked when it comes to finding a resolution that works. However, research has proven that this method is effective, and frequently in a short amount of time. What is it?
A Healthy Spine Leads to Fewer Headaches
Often, a headache is a sign of a misalignment in the upper neck vertebrae, particularly the C1 and C2. A misalignment in this area puts undue pressure on the brainstem hindering signals that are being sent to and from the brain and body. Another result of this problem is that blood flow to and from the brain is compromised. This is the perfect set-up for a headache to occur.
I use a specific, gentle procedure that allows the bones of the neck to realign. This reduces the disturbances to signals being sent throughout the body, allowing the nervous system to work properly once again. Many patients have seen their headaches go away with only a few adjustments.
